We are a small but dedicated group of critical care doctors and nurses who recognised a challenge within our professions — when we don't work well together, we suffer, and so do our patients.

While the historical relationship between nursing and medicine is complex, the data is clear: poor interdisciplinary culture and weak professional relationships directly compromise patient outcomes, reduce job satisfaction, and lower retention rates. This reality prompted a critical question: what practical strategies can we implement to enhance collaboration between doctors and nurses?

In 2025 we began developing our pilot course, drawing on contemporary leadership concepts, validated communication models, emotional intelligence concepts, and human factors research to find an answer.
